Eosinophilic pustular folliculitis is an uncommon inflammatory cutaneous reaction pattern of poorly understood aetiology which is characterised by infiltration of pilosebaceous follicles by large numbers of eosinophils. Three distinct clinical patterns are recognised: classical adult which is predominantly facial and is reported principally from Japan; immunosuppression-associated which is strongly associated with HIV infection and is usually extrafacial; and infantile occurring predominantly in the first six months of life.
