Emergence of malignancy is reported in up to 5% of patients with vasculitis. In patients with malignancy and vasculitis, hematologic malignancies are most common. Vasculitis can also be associated with solid tumours: kidney, breast, ovary, lung, nasopharynx, stomach, small bowel, colon, and prostate cancers. Leukocytoclastic vasculitis is most common in vasculitis induced by malignancy, but large-vessel vasculitis may also emerge. Paraneoplastic vasculitis should be kept in mind to accomplish early diagnosis and timely treatment of the underlying malignancy. Most paraneoplastic vasculitis requires no specific treatment other than that for the original malignancy.
