Primary central nervous system lymphoma is an uncommon form of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) that has been increasing in incidence over the past three decades. Unlike systemic extranodal non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, the response to therapy for primary central nervous system lymphoma patients has been somewhat unsatisfactory. Primary CNS lymphoma may present as solitary or multifocal lesions. The multifocal lesions can be of various size-some large with mass effect and others smaller, and can occur in the cerebral white matter. This can resemble demyelination.
