Any condition caused by an obstruction in the urinary bladder during the antenatal period. These conditions are characterised by distention of the pelvis and calices of one or both kidneys, and lack of free flow of urine from the kidney, and lead to progressive atrophy of the kidney if untreated. These conditions may also present with pain in the flank, haematuria, pyuria, or hyperpyrexia.
