Mucocele of the nasal sinuses (also called paranasal sinuses) is a distinct clinico-pathologic entity in which there is obstruction of the sinus cavity outflow tract, resulting in expansion of the sinus walls. Mucoceles can occur in any of the four sinuses (frontal, maxillary, sphenoid and ethmoid), but most frequently they occur in the frontal and ethmoid sinuses.
