A leishmaniose cutânea difusa resulta de ausênica de resposta imune à infecção por leishmania, que permite que a infecção se espalhe amplamente pela superfície da pele. Manifesta-se como infiltração nodular indolor e progressiva da pele por L. aethiopica ou L. amazonensis. Em contraste com a leishmaniose cutânea disseminada, o teste da leishmanina é negativo, os nódulos contêm parasitas abundantes e a resposta à terapia é pobre. | |||

It manifests as progressively spreading painless nodular infiltration of the skin by either L. aethiopica or L. amazonensis. In contrast to disseminated cutaneous leishmaniasis, the leishmanin test is negative, nodules contain abundant parasites and response to therapy poor. | |||
