O exercício e o aumento da temperatura são fatores precipitantes. Ocasionalmente está associada a alguns medicamentos e raramente pode ser familiar devido a uma mutação em uma proteína envolvida na função de canal iônico. | |||

The majority of cases are sporadic and associated with a small-fibre neuropathy involving sensory and sympathetic nerves.
