A rare paediatric condition characterised by a relative decrease in the number of platelets in the blood of a newborn due to the presence of a maternal condition characterised by isolated low platelet count (thrombocytopenia) with normal bone marrow and the absence of other causes of thrombocytopenia in the mother.
