Embora as crianças com ânus imperfurado ou obviamente mal localizado sejam identificadas no período de recém-nascidos, algumas crianças com uma anormalidade muito leve podem não ser identificados até depois do período de recém-nascido. Esse leve deslocamento do ânus foi denominado ânus ectópico anterior. O ânus ectópico anterior é diferente do ânus imperfurado com fístula perineal, pois a abertura anal geralmente é de tamanho normal e apenas ligeiramente deslocada. A maioria dessas crianças procura atendimento médico devido à constipação grave. | |||

While children with imperforate or obviously mislocated anus are identified in the newborn period, some children with a very mild abnormality may escape identification until after the newborn period. This mild mislocation of the anus has been termed anterior ectopic anus. Anterior ectopic anus is different from imperforate anus with perineal fistula in that the anal opening is usually of normal size, and only mildly misplaced. Most of these children come to medical attention due to severe constipation. | |||
