Incompetência cervical refere-se a fraqueza de cérvix e segmento uterino baixo, a qual pode levar a perda gestacional recorrente no segundo trimestre ou início do terceiro trimestre devido a incapacidade do colo uterino de reter a gravidez até o termo. Está associada a encurtamento prematuro do colo, dilatação e abertura do orifício cervical durante a gravidez. As alterações ultrassonográficas que sugerem incompetência cervical incluem um comprimento cervical < 1,5 cm, largura cervical > 3 cm e um canal cervical expandido > que 8 cm. | |||
