Doença dos ossos e articulações, causada por uma infecção pela bactéria Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Esta doença comumente se apresenta com dor óssea, inflamação das articulações, perda de movimento ou sensibilidade no osso ou articulação afetada, e ossos fracos com tendência a fraturas. A transmissão ocorre através da disseminação hematogênica para os ossos e articulações após a inalação de secreções respiratórias infectadas. A confirmação é feita pela identificação de Mycobacterium tuberculosis em amostras de biópsia da localização afetada. | |||

This disease commonly presents with bone pain, joint inflammation, loss of movement or feeling in the affected bone or joint, and weak bones prone to fracture. Transmission is through haematogenous spread to the bones and joints after inhalation of infected respiratory secretions. Confirmation is by identification of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in biopsy samples of the affected site. | |||
