Artrite idiopática juvenil (AIJ) é o termo usado para descrever um grupo de transtornos articulares inflamatórios de causa desconhecida, que começaram antes dos 16 anos de idade e com duração maior que 6 semanas. Foram definidas seis formas de apresentação: artrite idiopática juvenil de início sistêmico (anteriormente referida como doença de Still), oligoartrite, poliartrite fator reumatoide positivo, poliartrite fator reumatoide negativo, artrite associada à entesite (espondiloartropatias) e a forma juvenil da artrite psoriásica. A sétima categoria foi definida para incluir formas de apresentação de artrite não classificadas (formas que não correspondem a nenhuma das doenças definidas ou que correspondem a mais de uma dessas doenças).

Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is the term used to describe a group of inflammatory articular disorders of unknown cause that begin before the age of 16 and last over 6 weeks. Six disorders have been defined: systemic-onset juvenile idiopathic arthritis (formerly referred to as Still's disease), oligoarticular arthritis, rheumatoid factor-positive polyarthritis, rheumatoid factor-negative polyarthritis, enthesitis-related arthritis (spondyloarthropathies), and the juvenile form of psoriatic arthritis (see these terms). A seventh category has been defined comprising unclassified types of arthritis (types that do not correspond to any of the defined disease or that correspond to more than one of the disease definitions).
