É definida pela presença de acometimento da mucosa e de descolamento de pele entre 10% e 30% da superfície corporal. Pode ser considerado como uma forma intermediária desses dois transtornos e, como acontece com eles, na maioria dos casos pode ser atribuído a uma droga.
