Impetigo não bolhoso é devido à infecção superficial da pele tanto por Streptococcus pyogenes quanto por Staphylococcus aureus ou por ambos. As bolhas muito superficiais que se formam na epiderme superior são logo eliminadas e raramente observadas (cf. impetigo bolhoso), de modo que normalmente se apresentam com áreas de secreção superficial e crostas na superfície da pele. Frequentemente ocorre subsequente a pequenas lesões na pele ou em pele danificada por uma dermatose preexistente, como eczema atópico ou escabiose. | |||

Non-bullous impetigo is due to superficial skin infection with either Streptococcus pyogenes or Staphylococcus aureus or both. The very superficial blisters which form in the upper epidermis are soon shed and rarely seen (cf. bullous impetigo) so that it normally presents with areas of superficial oozing and crusting on the skin surface. It often following minor skin injury or on skin damaged by a preexisting dermatosis such as atopic eczema or scabies. | |||
