Doença do sistema pulmonar, causada por uma infecção pela bactéria gram-negativa Chlamydia pneumoniae. Essa doença comumente se apresenta com um início gradual de tosse e febre baixa. Também pode se manifestar com faringite, laringite e sinusite. A transmissão ocorre por inalação de secreções respiratórias infectadas. A confirmação é feita por identificação de Chlamydia pneumoniae em uma amostra de escarro.

This disease may also present with pharyngitis, laryngitis, and sinusitis. Transmission is by inhalation of infected respiratory secretions. Confirmation is by identification of Chlamydia pneumoniae in a sputum sample.
