Perda súbita da função cerebral devida à falta de fluxo sanguíneo adequado. Ocorre em associação com baixo fluxo sanguíneo para o cérebro. The "watershed" regions of the brain, regions that are supplied by the branching ends of two large arteries, are particularly sensitive to low oxygen supply when arteries do not maintain the appropriate tension.
