As perturbações afetam algumas áreas da funcionalidade da personalidade, mas não outras (p. ex., problemas com autodirecionamento na ausência de problemas com estabilidade e coerência da identidade ou autoestima) e podem não ser aparentes em alguns contextos. Há problemas em muitos relacionamentos interpessoais e/ou no desempenho de papéis ocupacionais e sociais esperados, mas alguns relacionamentos são mantidos e/ou alguns papéis são cumpridos. There are problems in many interpersonal relationships and/or in performance of expected occupational and social roles, but some relationships are maintained and/or some roles carried out. Specific manifestations of personality disturbances are generally of mild severity.
