Padrão de uso de cafeína que tenha causado dano clinicamente significativo a saúde física ou mental do indivíduo, ou no qual o comportamento induzido pela cafeína tenha causado dano clinicamente significativo à saúde de terceiros. O padrão de uso de cafeína é evidente ao longo de um período de pelo menos 12 meses se o uso for episódico e de pelo menos um mês se o uso for contínuo (ou seja, diário ou quase diário). O dano pode ser causado por efeitos intoxicantes da cafeína, efeitos tóxicos diretos ou secundários sobre órgãos e sistemas corporais; ou uma via de administração perigosa.
