Doença causada por determinantes que surgem após o nascimento ou por fatores geneticamente herdados que levam a anormalidades no sangue. Essa doença é caracterizada por anormalidade na coagulação sanguínea que aumenta o risco de trombose, coágulos nos vasos sanguíneos. Essa doença pode apresentar-se com trombose venosa profunda ou embolia pulmonar. A confirmação é feita pela identificação de testes de coagulação sanguínea anormais em amostra de sangue.
