Linfoma folicular (FL) é uma neoplasia composta de células B do centro folicular (centro germinativo) (tipicamente tanto centrócitos quanto centroblastos/células grandes transformadas), que geralmente apresentam um padrão pelo menos parcialmente folicular. Frequentemente observa-se t(14;18) com rearranjo BCL2. Se áreas difusas de qualquer tamanho compostas predominantemente ou inteiramente por células blásticas estiverem presentes em qualquer caso de linfoma folicular, um diagnóstico de linfoma difuso de grandes células B também é feito. Linfomas compostos por centrócitos e centroblastos com padrão inteiramente difuso no tecido amostral podem ser incluídos nesta categoria. | |||

If diffuse areas of any size comprised predominantly or entirely of blastic cells are present in any case of follicular lymphoma, a diagnosis of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is also made.
