O linfoma de Hodgkin clássico é um linfoma de células B caracterizado histologicamente pela presença de grandes células mononucleares de Hodgkin e células multinucleadas de Reed-Sternberg (HRS)._x000D_ Ocorre linfoproliferação monoclonal de células B na grande maioria dos casos. É caracterizado por uma distribuição bimodal de idade (15-30 anos de vida e idade avançada) e está frequentemente associado à infecção por EBV. Em menos de 5% dos casos, existe proliferação monoclonal de linfócitos T. Morfologicamente, é caracterizado pela presença de células de Reed-Sternberg e células de Hodgkin mononucleares. A monoclonal B-cell lymphoproliferation in the vast majority of cases. It is characterised by a bimodal age distribution (15-30 years of life and late life) and is often associated with EBV infection. In less than 5% of cases it is a monoclonal proliferation of T-lymphocytes. Morphologically, it is characterised by the presence of Reed-Sternberg cells and mononuclear Hodgkin cells.
