Doença causada por uma infecção pelo parasita protozoário Trypanosoma brucei gambiense. Esta doença é caracterizada por febre, dor de cabeça, dores musculares e articulares ou mal-estar. Esta doença também pode se manifestar com linfadenopatia, perda de peso ou déficits neurológicos. A transmissão ocorre por meio da picada de uma mosca tsé-tsé infectada. A confirmação é feita pela identificação de Trypanosoma brucei gambiense em biópsia de linfonodo. | |||

This disease may also present with lymphadenopathy, weight loss, or neurological deficits. Transmission is through the bite of an infected tsetse fly.
