A aspergilose pulmonar crônica (APC) apresenta-se como lesão(ões) nodular(es) ou cavitária(s) nos pulmões, com duração de pelo menos três meses. É causada por espécies de Aspergillus, como demonstrado na coloração histológica, por cultura positiva de biópsia ou anticorpos IgG positivos para Aspergillus._x000D_ _x000D_ A forma mais comum de APC é a aspergilose pulmonar cavitária crônica (APCC). Se não for tratada, pode evoluir para aspergilose pulmonar fibrosante crônica (APFC). Manifestações menos comuns de APC incluem nódulo de Aspergillus e aspergiloma único. Todas essas entidades são encontradas em pacientes não imunocomprometidos com doença pulmonar prévia ou atual. A aspergilose pulmonar invasiva subaguda (anteriormente chamada de aspergilose pulmonar necrosante crônica) é uma infecção mais rapidamente progressiva (<3 meses) geralmente encontrada em pacientes moderadamente imunocomprometidos. | |||

The most common form of CPA is chronic cavitary pulmonary aspergillosis (CCPA). Untreated it may progress to chronic fibrosing pulmonary aspergillosis (CFPA). Less common manifestations of CPA include Aspergillus nodule and single aspergilloma. All these entities are found in non-immunocompromised patients with prior or current lung disease.
