As manifestações clínicas são geralmente agudas, com febre e combinações variáveis de convulsões, estado mental prejudicado e déficits focais. O líquido cefalorraquidiano pode mostrar uma reação celular e proteína elevada. O diagnóstico é feito por neuroimagem, análise e cultura do líquido cefalorraquidiano, PCR e testes sorológicos. | |||
