Acute graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) present more than 100 days after engraftment. The clinical features of acute graft-versus-host disease can normally be readily distinguished from those of chronic GVHD. Late acute GVHD may be due to late onset, persistence beyond 100 days or reactivation, often after discontinuation of immunosuppressive therapy. Its management and prognosis are different from chronic GVHD.
