Epilepsy with onset between 6 months and 3 years with male predominance. Family history of seizures is not uncommon. Myoclonic seizures are the predominant and often the only seizure type. They are exaggerated by drowsiness and non-REM sleep and may be provoked by visual stimuli. Consciousness is commonly intact. generalised tonic-clonic seizures occur infrequently. Interictal EEG is mostly normal. Seizure remission is common and psychomotor development is often normal.
