Ectima contagioso é uma infecção viral da pele contraída a partir de ovelhas e cabras. O ectima contagioso é causado por um vírus parapox que infecta principalmente cordeiros e cabras. Lesões humanas são causadas pela inoculação direta de material infectado. Ectima contagioso não é incomum entre criadores de ovelhas, tosquiadores, trabalhadores de frigorífico, veterinários e esposas de fazendeiros ou seus filhos que alimentam cordeiros com mamadeira. Eles ocorrem mais comumente nos dedos, mãos ou antebraços, mas podem aparecer no rosto. | |||||||||||||||
