Neuromuscular junction disorder due to certain specified toxin are a result of a form of poison that affects neuromuscular junction functioning. Diseases in this category include snake venom poisoning, arthropod poisoning, organophosphates ingestion or other specified toxin. These act at single or multiple sites of the neuromuscular apparatus interfering with voltage-gated ion channels, acetylcholine release, depolarization of the postsynaptic membrane, or generation and spread of the muscle action potential.
