O corno cutâneo é uma descrição morfológica clínica de uma protuberância cônica firme, branca ou amarela em forma de chifre, surgindo da superfície da pele. A queratinização anormal da epiderme subjacente produz acantose variável sob uma coluna verticalmente orientada de células cornificadas compactadas. O transtorno epidérmico subjacente pode ser devido, entre outras coisas, a ceratose actínica, carcinoma de células escamosas, verruga viral ou ceratose seborreica. A ceratose actínica é, no entanto, o transtorno subjacente mais comum. | |||||||||||||||

Cutaneous horn is a clinical morphological description for a firm, white or yellow conical horn-like protuberance arising from the skin surface. Abnormal keratinization of the underlying epidermis produces variable acanthosis beneath a vertically-orientated column of compacted cornified cells. The underlying epidermal derangement may be due, amongst other things, to actinic keratosis, squamous cell carcinoma, viral wart or seborrhoeic keratosis. Actinic keratosis is, however, the commonest underlying disorder. | |||||||||||||||

Cutaneous horn is a clinical morphological description for a firm, white or yellow conical horn-like protuberance arising from the skin surface. Abnormal keratinization of the underlying epidermis produces variable acanthosis beneath a vertically-orientated column of compacted cornified cells. The underlying epidermal derangement may be due, amongst other things, to actinic keratosis, squamous cell carcinoma, viral wart or seborrhoeic keratosis. Actinic keratosis is, however, the commonest underlying disorder.
