Síndrome do linfonodo mucocutâneo (doença de Kawasaki) é uma vasculite aguda de distribuição global em crianças pequenas que afeta artérias de médio a pequeno calibre e, se não tratada, leva a aneurismas de artérias coronárias em cerca de um quarto dos casos. Os sinais cardinais incluem linfadenopatia cervical, inflamação conjuntival, erupção cutânea (maculopapular, eritrodérmica ou eritema multiforme-símile), língua em morango, enantema orofaríngeo, eritema e inchaço das mãos e pés e descamação periungueal. A causa é desconhecida, mas acredita-se que seja ambiental, possivelmente por infecção viral. Uma variante da doença foi associada à infecção por SARS CoV-2. | |||||||||||||||

Mucocutaneous lymph node syndrome (Kawasaki disease) is a globally distributed acute vasculitis of young children affecting medium to small calibre arteries and if untreated leads to coronary artery aneurysms in about a quarter of cases. Cardinal signs include cervical lymphadenopathy, conjunctival injection, rash (maculopapular, erythrodermic or erythema multiforme-like), strawberry tongue, oropharyngeal erythema, erythema and swelling of hands and feet and periungual desquamation. The cause is unknown but thought to be environmental, possibly from viral infection. A variant of the disease has been linked to SARS CoV-2 infection. | |||||||||||||||
