Acne infantil geralmente se apresenta aos 3-6 meses de idade, mas foi relatada tão tardia quanto 16 meses. Os bebês do sexo masculino são afetados mais comumente que os do sexo feminino, e pode haver antecedente de acne grave em um ou mais pais. Pode durar até os cinco anos de idade. Podem ser observadas tanto acne comedoniana quanto inflamatória com pápulas, pústulas e nódulos; cicatrizes podem ocorrer.

Male infants are affected more commonly than females and there may be a history of severe acne in one or more parents. It may last up to the age of five years.
