+Úlcera retal hemorrágica aguda é considerada como um transtorno isquêmico agudo da mucosa, que ocorre em pacientes idosos que sofrem de redução incipiente do fluxo sanguíneo devida a fatores arterioscleróticos. Estes pacientes estão frequentemente acamados, e isso causa uma diminuição no fluxo sanguíneo da mucosa do reto inferior, o que por sua vez desencadeia essa doença.
