O Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) é um bacilo gram-negativo encontrado na camada mucosa que recobre o epitélio gástrico, dentro das células epiteliais e aderido às células mucosas, provocando inflamação. É responsável pela maioria das úlceras gástricas.
