Perda súbita da função cerebral devida à falta de fluxo sanguíneo adequado. Ocorre em associação com baixo fluxo sanguíneo para o cérebro. As "zonas de fronteira" do cérebro, regiões que são supridas pelas extremidades ramificadas de duas grandes artérias, são particularmente sensíveis ao baixo suprimento de oxigênio quando as artérias não mantêm o fluxo adequado.

This is a sudden loss of brain function due to a lack of adequate blood flow. It occurs in association with a low state of blood flow to the brain. The "watershed" regions of the brain, regions that are supplied by the branching ends of two large arteries, are particularly sensitive to low oxygen supply when arteries do not maintain the appropriate tension.

This is a sudden loss of brain function due to a lack of adequate blood flow. It occurs in association with a low state of blood flow to the brain. The "watershed" regions of the brain, regions that are supplied by the branching ends of two large arteries, are particularly sensitive to low oxygen supply when arteries do not maintain the appropriate tension.
