Doença do sistema cardiovascular causada por febre reumática. A cardiopatia reumática é caracterizada por inflamação repetida com reparo fibrinoso. Essa doença pode se manifestar com alterações anatômicas cardinais da valva, incluindo o espessamento dos folhetos, fusão comissural, encurtamento e espessamento das cordas tendíneas. Inflamação e cicatrizes nas valvas também podem ocorrer. A confirmação é feita por uma radiografia torácica ou ecocardiografia. | |||||||||||||||

This disease may present with cardinal anatomic changes of the valve including leaflet thickening, commissural fusion, and shortening and thickening of the tendinous cords.
