Nódulo ou úlcera doloroso comum induzido por pressão que afeta a orelha externa. Resulta de isquemia de pele e cartilagem subjacente a partir de um ponto focal de alta pressão pelo peso da cabeça em decúbito. A localização envolvida depende da forma do pavilhão auricular (mais comumente a hélice está envolvida, mas em alguns indivíduos é a anti-hélice que é mais proeminente) e de se o paciente está limitado a dormir de um lado apenas e, portanto, é incapaz de poupar a orelha da pressão constante ao se deitar na cama. | |||||||||||||||

A common pressure-induced painful nodule or ulcer affecting the external ear. It results from ischaemia of skin and underlying cartilage from a focal point of high pressure from the weight of the recumbent head. The site of involvement is dependent on the shape of the pinna (most commonly the helix is involved but in some individuals it is the antihelix which is more prominent) and whether the sufferer is limited to sleeping on one side and is thus unable to spare the ear from constant pressure when lying in bed. | |||||||||||||||

A common pressure-induced painful nodule or ulcer affecting the external ear.
