+Blefarite posterior é uma inflamação das pálpebras secundária à disfunção das glândulas de Meibomius. Como a blefarite anterior, é uma condição crônica bilateral e se manifesta por um amplo espectro de sintomas envolvendo as pálpebras incluindo inflamação e obstrução dos orifícios das glândulas de Meibomius e excreção de secreção anormal quando se aplica pressão sobre as glândulas. Pode estar associada a rosácea cutânea.

Like anterior blepharitis it is a bilateral chronic condition and manifested by a broad spectrum of symptoms involving the lids including inflammation and plugging of the meibomian orifices and production of abnormal secretion upon pressure over the glands. It may be associated with skin rosacea.
