Todos os critérios diagnósticos para transtorno amnéstico são preenchidos. Os sintomas de memória são considerados consequência direta do uso de sedativos, hipnóticos ou ansiolíticos. A intensidade e duração do uso de sedativos, hipnóticos ou ansiolíticos devem ser sabidamente capazes de produzir comprometimento da memória. O comprometimento da memória pode se desenvolver durante ou logo após a intoxicação por ou abstinência de sedativos, hipnóticos ou ansiolíticos, mas sua intensidade e duração são significativamente maiores do que aquelas normalmente associadas a essas condições. Os sintomas não são mais bem explicados por outro transtorno ou condição médica, como pode ser o caso se os sintomas amnésticos precederem o início do uso de sedativos, hipnóticos ou ansiolíticos. | |||||||||||||||

The memory impairment may develop during or soon after sedative, hypnotic or anxiolytic intoxication or withdrawal, but its intensity and duration are substantially in excess of those normally associated with these conditions.
