+Pelagra é um transtorno potencialmente fatal devido à deficiência de niacina e é observada em indivíduos desnutridos, especialmente alcoólatras, assim como uma complicação da terapia com isoniazida. O diagnóstico é frequentemente esquecido ou atrasado. A pelagra se manifesta como diarreia, dermatite, demência, que geralmente aparecem nesta ordem. Os sintomas do trato gastrointestinal sempre precedem o envolvimento da pele, que se apresenta inicialmente com um eritema com bolhas semelhante a queimaduras de sol, geralmente afetando as superfícies dorsais das mãos, rosto, pescoço, braços e pés. Com o tempo, a pele torna-se mais espessa, escamosa e pigmentada.
