O diabetes insípido central (DIC) é uma doença hipotálamo-hipofisária caracterizada por poliúria e polidipsia devido à deficiência de vasopressina (AVP). A condição pode estar associada à secreção deficiente de hormônio antidiurético (ADH) sendo a causa mais comum -a idiopática (possivelmente devido a lesão autoimune ás células produtoras de ADH) também podendos ser induzida por trauma, cirurgia hipofisária ou encefalopatia hipóxica ou isquêmica. | |||||||||||||||
