Doença causada por trombocitose essencial ou outro transtorno mieloproliferativo, como leucemia mielogênica crônica, policitemia, mielofibrose. Essa doença pode também ter causas secundárias, como inflamação, cirurgia, hipoesplenismo, esplenectomia, asplenia, anemia por deficiência de ferro e hemorragia. Essa doença é caracterizada por contagens elevadas de plaquetas no sangue. A confirmação é feita pela identificação de contagem aumentada de plaquetas em amostra de sangue. | |||||||||||||||
