Neoplasias mieloides que ocorrem em indivíduos com síndrome de Down. Existe um risco aumentado de leucemias agudas em crianças e adultos com síndrome de Down. Em particular, a incidência de leucemia mieloide aguda em crianças com síndrome de Down com menos de cinco anos de idade é particularmente alta, geralmente é uma leucemia megacarioblástica aguda e está associada à mutação do gene GATA1.
