Doença causada por uma infecção pelo verme parasita Schistosoma. Esta doença é caracterizada por formigamento, queimação, coceira na pele, pequenas espinhas avermelhadas ou pequenas bolhas. A transmissão ocorre por contato direto com água contaminada. A confirmação é feita pela identificação de ovos de Schistosoma em uma amostra de fezes, de urina ou de sangue.
