Lesão e inflamação hepáticas agudas causadas por infecção recente e de curto prazo (menos de 6 meses) pelo vírus da hepatite A (HAV). A transmissão ocorre pela via fecal-oral. O diagnóstico é confirmado pela presença de IgM-anti-HAV no soro. As manifestações clínicas, se ocorrerem, são caracterizadas por anorexia, náusea e febre, com icterícia nos casos mais graves. | |||||||||||||||
