Esta doença é caracterizada por úlcera genital, bubões, abcessos na virilha, sangue nas fezes, tenesmo ou proctocolite. A transmissão ocorre por contato sexual. A confirmação é feita pela identificação de Chlamydia trachomatis em uma amostra de sangue ou por testes de reação em cadeia da polimerase.
