Doença causada por uma infecção por Francisella tularensis. Esta doença é caracterizada por febre, calafrios, dor de cabeça e fraqueza, assim como por outros sintomas, dependendo da via de infecção. A transmissão ocorre por meio da picada de um carrapato ou mosca de cervo infectado, por ingestão de água ou comida contaminada, transmissão aérea ou por contato direto com animais infectados. A confirmação é feita pela identificação de Francisella tularensis, ou a presença de anticorpos contra Francisella tularensis, em uma amostra de sangue ou escarro. | |||||||||||||||
