This is an inflammation of duodenum, due to Henoch-Schönlein purpura, a systemic vasculitis (inflammation of blood vessels) and is characterised by deposition of immune complexes containing the antibody IgA in multiple organs, such as skin, kidney and gastrointestinal mucosa.
