Ependimoma é o tumor intramedular mais frequente em adultos (mas representa apenas 10-12% dos tumores pediátricos do sistema nervoso central) e pode ser benigno ou anaplásico. O ependimoma surge das células ependimárias dos ventrículos cerebrais, apoios corticais e canal central da medula espinal e se manifesta com sintomas variáveis, como cefaleia, vômitos, convulsões, sinais neurológicos focais e perda de visão. Pode causar hidrocefalia obstrutiva em alguns casos. | |||||||||||||||
