Acne and folliculitis caused by occupational exposure to pitch and tar (e.g. in roofing pitch, artificial asphalt or wood preservatives). Those at risk include roofers, road-construction workers and those employed in coke and coal gas production or aluminium smelting. Friction from clothing is often a contributory factor.
