Relatos identificaram pacientes que foram diagnosticados com neoplasia na época ou após o diagnóstico de doença do neurônio motor, e mecanismos paraneoplásicos foram sugeridos. Subgrupos de pacientes com DNM e câncer incluem pacientes com anticorpos anti-Hu e pacientes com câncer de mama e síndrome do neurônio motor superior puro coincidentes. Subgroups of patients with MND and cancer include patients with anti-Hu antibodies, and patients with coincident breast cancer and pure upper motor neuron syndrome.
